Examinations
Boys are prepared for public examinations in Year 8 which are typically Common Entrance or alternatively scholarship examinations to their next school.
Above and beyond the annual exam timetable for all years (3-8), there is additional diagnostic and standardised testing also from Year 3. Cognitive Ability Test (CAT) testing, is administered for all boys form Years 3 to 8 in addition to PiPS (Year 3 to 6) and MIDYIS (Year 7 and 8). Whilst the school no longer administers SATs, the optional papers and teacher assessments provide an indication of pupil performance against national norms.
