The School Tradition

St John’s is a Jesuit School. It positively welcomes boys of all denominations. It ensures that boys gain a thorough knowledge of what the Christian Church teaches and especially to take to heart the gospel lesson of service. What it means to be Christian is learned, not only through formal teaching but also by living in the atmosphere of a Christian community such as the school provides. There is an opportunity for the boys to attend Services daily, including morning and night prayer, and there is also a School Mass each fortnight. The boys are also able to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

There is every opportunity for the boys to seek help and advice from all the staff who meet them, in the classroom, on the sports fields, and in their leisure time activities. As a Jesuit School St John’s seeks to foster a particular concern and care for others. Please visit the Chapel on our virtual tour section of this website.
